I. The School of Digital Economy and Management of Nanjing University

Theoretical Economics at Nanjing University has been selected as a discipline for the national Double First Class Construction. The discipline has a first-class faculty team, with 40 full-time teachers, including 1 senior professor in humanities and social sciences at Nanjing University, 3 national teaching masters, 3 selected candidates for the national talent plan, and 2 national level candidates for the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security's Hundred and Ten Thousand Talents Project. It has established the Nanjing University Yangtze River Delta Economic and Social Development Research Center as a key research base of the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences, the Nanjing University Yangtze River Industry Economic Research Institute as a national think tank cultivation unit, and the Nanjing University Cultural Industry Research Institute as a key research base of the Ministry of Culture. It is the main participating unit of the China's Characteristic Economic Construction Collaborative Innovation Center in the national 2011 plan, and has two Jiangsu Decision Consulting Research Bases. 

The School of Digital Economy and Management of Nanjing University is one of the first colleges built by Nanjing University on its Suzhou campus. Facing the main battlefield of the economy and major national needs, it aims to cultivate high-end composite talents in the digital economy and build a theoretical system for the digital economy. It conducts research on the digital economy, digital finance, digital trade, and digital governance, and focuses on building a new liberal arts discipline that integrates economics, digital intelligence, statistics, and behavior.

 

II. The Positions

The School of Digital Economy and Management of Nanjing University relies on the theoretical economics discipline of Nanjing University to recruit top-notch talents and young top talents in the field of digital economy from around the world. We plan to recruit several prospective/permanent associate professors and assistant professors. Specially outstanding high-level talent positions will be discussed separately. Engaged in research on the digital economy, capable of undertaking courses in advanced macroeconomics, econometrics, behavioral and experimental economics, digital industry organization, digital finance and securities investment, statistics, machine learning and data mining, database technology and applications, etc. Recruitment research directions include:

8. Socio economic networks and complex economics

III. Conditions for Application

The applicant should

1. Abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, and have a passion for teaching and research;

2. Abide by the ethics of teachers, uphold academic integrity, be willing to work diligently, and have no criminal record or record in breaching the ethics of teachers and/or academic integrity;

3. First class academic background: Possess a doctoral degree in relevant disciplines, have learning and work experience in first-class teaching and research institutions, and be familiar with international cutting-edge research trends in related fields.

4. Have outstanding teaching abilities—the applicant should be able to teach core and frontline courses in the corresponding discipline, and have sound teaching methodology and strong verbal skills;

5. Demonstrate outstanding research output and potential—the applicant should have publications in his/her field of research, original ideas about relevant fields of research, a clear vision about future research plans, and good potential for further academic development.
